The Fédération Nationale Solidarité Femmes is a network of 73 associations that provide accommodation and support to female victims of violence and their children throughout France. Solidarité Femmes is also the hotline 3919. Since 1 January 2014, 3919 – Violences Femmes Infos has been the national helpline and referral number for women who are victims of any kind of abuse, including domestic violence, sexual violence, forced marriages, female genital mutilation and workplace violence.

A team of professional counsellors offers a sympathetic ear, creating a climate of trust that allows the person to speak. The aim of this listening service is to enable the person to take action, thanks to appropriate information about the steps to be taken and the role of various professionals and services, and then, as much as possible, to direct the victim towards a specialised association that can assist her and, if necessary, bring her and her children to safety quickly.

Recognised as a public service, the French association Léa Solidarité Femmes was created in 2009 in Essonne with the mission of supporting women who are victims of any kind of violence, primarily in relation to domestic and/or intrafamily violence. The association offers shelter, a sympathetic ear, comprehensive support (social, legal and psychological) and ensures the protection of women and their children through temporary accommodation, encouraging social integration and personal rehabilitation. Over the past 10 years, Léa Solidarité Femmes has supported more than 2,900 women and children, provided shelter for 438 women and children and currently has 122 accommodation places available.
